We denotated to disaster relief funds following the earthquake that struck the Noto region in the Ishikawa Prefecture on January 1, 2024.
The earthquake that struck the Noto peninsula measured the highest 7 on the JMA intensity scale and as of July 2024, more than 2000 people are still forced to live in evacuation centers (Disaster Management, Cabinet Office, July 1, 2024).
We express our deepest condolences for those impacted and pray for the earliest possible recovery of the afflicted areas.
The relative poverty rate of children under 17 in Japan is 11.5% (2021 survey Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare(“MHLW”)). In addition, about 1.3 million elementary and junior high school students receive school assistance due to economic reasons (2021 survey Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (“MEXT”)) but this may be a social issue that is difficult to recognize.
In 2015, the “Fund to Support the Children’s Future” was established as a public-private partnership project promoted by the Children’s Family Agency, MEXT, and the Welfare and Medical Service Agency. This fund supports private activities that help children in difficult situations.
Our company has made donations in support of the fund’s purpose.

The organization provides opportunities for executives from a wide range of industries to learn by providing various training programs including director and outside director training, finance training etc.
We have donated to the cause as we believe BDTI’s activities can help contribute to the enhancing corporate governance in Japan.
Established in 2009, BDTI has been working to contribute to the sound development of Japanese companies and the Japanese economy through the improvement of corporate governance. For over 12 years, BDTI has been providing “Director Training” for directors and executive officers, and we are the only “public interest” organization certified by the government in this field.
Hands On Tokyo works with individuals, students, and volunteers from companies in various fields such as education, environmental protection, and welfare to support people with diverse needs.
In 2024, our company participated in the “Onigiri Project,” to make rice balls for Kodomo Shokudo (a cafeteria where children can eat for free or at a low cost). We also made a donation.
We also had the opportunity to exchange opinions with volunteer coordinators and other companies engaged in volunteer activities and heard some valuable stories.
The mission statement of Hands On Tokyo is to contribute to society, and promote volunteerism by providing meaningful volunteer opportunities that meet the needs of the community.
According to the 2001 survey by the MHLW, the most common cause of child abuse related deaths is among infants, especially newborns. Against this backdrop Piccolare has established a 24-hour consultation service to improve the situation of women struggling with pregnancy due to economic hardship, lack of partner support, social isolation etc.
Depending on the situation, they may also provide various support services, including direct consultations and accompanying women to hospitals.
We made a donation after hearing about their activities and the realities faced by pregnant women in difficult living conditions and empathizing with the significance of this initiative.
Piccolare is a non-profit organization that conducts various activities with the aim of realizing a society where anyone can live freely and happily without being isolated due to pregnancy.
We operate services such as “Ninshin SOS Tokyo,” which offers telephone, email, and chat consultations as well as accompanying support for unexpected pregnancies and other pregnancy-related concerns 365 days a year, and “Pisara,” a safe place for pregnant women who have no secure place to stay.
The Independence Support Home is a place where young adults who cannot live at home or have left child welfare facilities live together with the goal to live independently. It is for people aged 15 to 20 (up to 22 in some cases) after completing compulsory education.
We learned that they provide a wide range of support in daily life, employment, and education. We donated because we believe it is very challenging for young people to live independently without anyone to rely on and that such support is very important.
The facility houses six youths (mainly from the Saitama Prefecture) and provides a safe place to live and take meals. Through living with staff and other youth and continuing their education or working part time, they are able to acquire critical social skills to help them become financially and emotionally independent.
